Professional Background
There are many dentists who can provide patients with implants but there are only a few who are trained to such a high level.
Nigel Jones has been practising dentistry for over 25 years with a special interest in crowns, bridges and veneers. Three years ago he attended a year long course on placing and restoring dental implants. Since then he has successfully placed over 250 implants using the ITI and Ankylos systems. He is a mentor on the Dentsply development programme.
He has also studied bone-grafting techniques in Graz, Austria and is currently undertaking the Royal College of Surgeons 2-year diploma course in Dental Implantology, which will lead to a Masters Degree.
Nigel is a member of the Association of Dental Implantologists and the Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK). He also acts as Dental Advisor for Postgraduate Education in Wales and the Marches He is fully indemnified by Dental Protection Limited. Most implant work is undertaken using intravenous sedation for which he has received the recognised training and accreditation.
